In 1947, T.J. “Jack” Randel opened Big Giant Muffler Centers of America in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Over 60 years later, son Jack L. Randel continues the long-standing tradition of being an innovator in the exhaust industry.
Big Giant Muffler Centers sets itself apart by providing high quality, good value, and specialty exhaust work, which includes original equipment replacement parts, custom performance systems and catalytic converters. Big Giant Muffler Centers boasts one of the highest inventory turnover rates in the industry – averaging ten turnovers per year. This specialized inventory system has eliminated obsolete merchandise.
The success of Big Giant’s custom performance systems is possible through the extensive inner company training program which gives Big Giant employees the skill-set needed to utilize modern tail pipe benders and wire feed welders.
In 1988 a unique concept was born. Big Giant Muffler Centers recognized that quick oil change facilities had existing unproductive space and were in need of a profitable auto service that would fit into their locations and enhance their oil business. As well, Big Giant’s install system would distinguish itself with custom- designed tailpipes which would create less backpressure for better performance. Today, the business model for Big Giant Muffler Centers is this innovative concept.
Big Giant Muffler Centers maintains two concept locations. One location is a pit configuration, the other a flat floor with a four-post lift. These are the two configurations that can be found anywhere throughout the United States. We will continue to operate these units for training purposes.
Big Giant Muffler Centers of America, Inc. was formed for the purpose of franchising shops through out North America. Big Giant Muffler Centers of America, LP. owns and operates specialty muffler shops specializing in custom performance systems, original equipment replacement parts and catalytic converters.
